Never Miss A Sunrise: Chapter 3A year passed and we had evolved into lucarios. At first the spikes on the top of my paws and chest scared me. I was always afraid I'd stab myself, but I finally got used to them. They curled back a little like daggers. Ruki said it made me look tough. We had grown close now.
We never missed a sunrise. We spent sunny days on the beach, and rainy days under the canopy of the forest practicing our fighting skills. For a period of time I began having strange flashbacks of Bobbie. Which was not normal for me. The visions were beginning to scare me. I felt like they were trying to tell me something. Tell me Bobbie was looking for me. I hated it.
One day I was awakened by a dream of Bobbie. When I sat up, Ruki was still sleeping. I wasn't sure what it was, but something told me to go outside. There wasn't much light in the twilit forest, but I kept walking. I wasn't even sure where I was taking myself, but I ended up at the ridge by the beach.
I stood there, wondering why I was even there, w

When I woke up, I was in a cozy bed. I got up. "Morning sleepy head!" The other Riolu said. "Come have some breakfast!" I walked over to the table. My throat still burned and my stomach still hurt but I was happy to see a full plate for me on the table. I tried not to look too much like a slob, but I ate quickly. The berries, Poffins, and Pokemon food tasted like a piece of heaven! When I finished the Riolu smiled. "Feeling better now?" he asked. I smiled. "Much! Thank You!" He yawned "Well, it sure is strange to save someone and not even know their name!" I blushed and replied, "My name's Morgie!" he replied, "I'm Ruki." Then he took my paw. "C'mon Morgie, I want to show you something!"
With that, he led me outside, through the forest. We walked, and walked. The whole time, I had the fear we might run into Bobbie. Finally we came to a grassy ridge looking over a sandy beach. Ruki let-go of my paw and slid down the bank to the beach. When he got to
Never Miss a Sunrise: Chapter 1Never Miss A Sunrise: Chapter 1 How it came to be
Years ago, back when I was only a Riolu, I had a master. His name was Bobbie. Bobbie and I defeated every challenger we went up against. I loved fighting because it seemed to please Bobbie. Bobbie always talked to me. He told me how well I fought and for a girl, I was tough. After long years of training, we finally made it to the Championship of Sinnoh. I was determined to win this. I was strong and nothing could stop me! But that was not going to happen.
The opponent called out her Pokemon. A Houndoom appeared from the shadows behind the trainer. I fought hard. But the Houndoom was stronger than me. Both of us were on the line of defeat when the Houndoom swung its tail at me. I tried to dodge but I was too weak. The sharp point on its tail crashed into me and I fell backwards. The time-up alarm went off "And that's it! The victory of all Sinnoh goes to Joyce and her Houndoom!" The announcer boomed and the crowd roared.
Through all the
The Journey Continues Chapter 1Rays of sun illuminate the forest, casting warm pools on the ground. The saltiness of the air and the distant calls of wingull are all too familiar. And then it happens again. A sudden jolt of pain splits through my skull. I gasp, hit the ground on my knees as the images cloud my vision. I can see faces. Staring up at me from rows and rows of chairs. They smile and tear up happily. Flowers are all around as well as faces I know but cannot pin a name on. And then he is there. Beside me dressed up in a suit. His crimson eyes shimmer and my heart swells at the sight of him. This familiar stranger whom I love takes my paw and leans in to kiss me before the image fizzles into a new one. One that wrenches my heart to bits.
It is the same stranger, with a look of hurt in his eyes, blood streaks his fur and tears fall like rain. He's on the edge. I run with all my might but catch air as he falls backwards into darkness. I scream and there are hands on me, pulling me away from him. Hopelessness
Abandoned ChapelThe parish waits now,
the loneliness of corners
crawling outward on walls--
chipped away by the wind,
and held together
by silk spindles;
cobwebs align them like the membranes of memories,
the cut of a jewel in an broken window
against the sun
where beads of rain
gather in a mesh of strands
a new Mosaic
against the backdrop of a cemetery;
My eyes seek out the sermon
in close proximity,
paint no distance
between headstone and cloud;
elegies topple each other
in their climb to heaven
as light trickles
over the shade,
breathes a new glow over snuffed candles.
I feel the weight in these empty rows,
how a breath couldn't cease to be breath
in the midst of prayer.
